OUR STORY

Since opening in March of 2018, Broken Symmetry has produced one of the
largest assortment of beers from Connecticut’s Breweries.
We take pride in brewing and crafting a wide range of styles
from all over the globe: traditional, modern and historical.

In physics, “symmetry breaking” is a phenomenon in which
small changes at a critical point decide a system's fate.

Founder and Head-Brewer, Christopher Sanzeni
(a former aerospace engineer) found the correlation immediately, “You CREATE & follow A recipe. You add the right minerals TO THE WATER, MEASURE the exact grain & hops, and then... the yeast changes everything.
It breaks the symmetry.”

The years-long process of setting up the brewery and finding the right location led
Chris and his family to Bethel, a town where he now calls home.

Although he spends most of his time amongst the beers in the cellar room, he’s always happy to stop and chat.
So if you see him, say hello, introduce yourself, and let him know you’re enjoying yourself.

After all, he bet everything on hard work and traded in an old life for a new one.
